I was invited to give a presentation for the Alabama Social Media Association in July.  It was a good turn out and I would like to thank Stacy Hood for the opportunity and all of the assistance at the event.  Location based services, particularly delivered via mobile devices, offer local business an entirely new way to connect, service and monetize their relationships with their consumers.

Early efforts by Groupon like companies are going to give way to larger more established players like banks and credit card processors as everyone becomes more comfortable with using their mobile devices for commerce.
