More announcements coming out of Google I/O: Intuit is showing off a “concept” app for NFC on the Android platform. The app will extend the GoPayments service beyond the current reliance on magnetic card readers.

Intuit launches Square competitor

Intuit announced that its GoPayment product is going live today. The new iPad optimized payment app lets anyone take a credit card and get paid on the spot. The app is compatible with the free Intuit Credit Card reader and thus is in direct competition with Square’s offering.
