Autobot: your car, online

The winner of a competition to win a presentation spot in January’s CES show is Autobot. The company, Mavizon Technologies, makes the device that connects your car’s functionality to a smart phone as well as connecting it to online mapping and messaging services.

The device connects to the car’s OBD-II connector and offers car control, diagnostics, trip assist and offers. Offers sound interesting but the product features are not explained expect for a generalized overview of some of the core technologies of the system, which are: Autobot, the connection device, Drivenet, online connectivity to information and entertainment, Proximics, a location based offer management system that learns user preferences as offers are used, and Hyperserve, which is designed to mitigate the huge amount of information coming from telematics and the Internet of Things.

The product is not expected to be in market till 2012 so many things can happen in that time frame with the speed at which telematics is now moving.  The overall concept will happen eventually.
