Sprint carrier billing on Android

Sprint is opening up its carrier billing systems for Android developers. This will allow developers to integrate mobile payment for in app purchases that are passed through to Sprints billing system and will appear on customers monthly cell phone bill.

From the memo: ” Sprint Android users now can easily charge their Android Market purchases to their monthly Sprint bill with just a few clicks. With this new payment method, users will find it easier to purchase applications of their choice.

For developers, providing users with simple and fast payment methods, like carrier billing, makes it easy for users to purchase and pay for their applications quickly.”

From Android Central: “Charges will typically appear on the next bill cycle and will appear in the premium content section with an Android Market notation. Account Spending Limit balances will apply for ASL customers as purchases will count as part of their spending limit.”
